Administer people from the browser

Current project access, with deliberate online changes

Sign in with a named, enabled project administrator. Open Administration in the sidebar, or /admin on the existing hub address. This opens the same project and account store as desktop Admin; there is no second user library.

People and access

Find a saved user by name or User ID. Select the person to edit their display name, role or enabled state; reset another user's password; review project permission flags; or open Review effective access. Create a new user with an initial password and a reviewed project role. Use Account > Change my password for your own password. Another administrator must disable or demote your account. Account and permission changes revoke the edited person's existing sessions.

The read-only review combines current permissions, departments and effective heads, Fleet roles, separate vessel-log rights and full-backup eligibility. Reading the review neither changes access nor acknowledges a task. Department names are not a vessel boundary. Vessel-only project flags are retained; use the existing Fleet tools for site access and separate logbook grants.

All operational access does not silently add full-database backup permission. A new backup grant requires a separate acknowledgement. Full database backups remain unencrypted and not recipient-filtered; existing private-task restrictions still apply.

Departments

Choose Departments to create or rename a team, edit its description, choose members, appoint eligible enabled members as heads, or activate/deactivate the department. Review recorded references and recent history. Native reference rules can block deactivation. Renaming retains earlier names and references; removing membership does not erase recorded work. These controls do not merge or permanently delete departments.

Review, save and retry

Each change requires a reason and an initially unticked confirmation. Open editors require a live hub and are not offline drafts. Fields lock while sending. A record changed by another administrator is rejected instead of overwritten; cancel and reopen its current saved version.

After a lost or ambiguous response, keep the form open and use Retry unchanged request. The same action ID confirms an earlier saved change instead of duplicating it. The metadata receipt contains identifiers and status, not the form or password. Closing an uncertain editor can lose its in-memory contents and does not undo a committed change. Preserve the receipt and inspect the saved record before beginning a different action.

One navigation sidebar

Home centres on Needs attention and unsent work. The old repeated Home workspace-card grid and horizontal workspace strip are replaced by one grouped, independently scrolling sidebar. Wide screens have Hide sidebar / Show sidebar; narrower screens use Menu, Close menu, Escape and a backdrop. Account contains identity and personal/tools actions. Fleet uses the same navigation shell, but retains its existing site, role and logbook restrictions.

The header connection indicator opens Connection & saves. Only a healthy redundant strip with no outstanding local work is hidden. Uncertain saves, pending work, conflicts and connection/storage failures remain visible. Reading a page does not confirm an uncertain save.

Still on the host PC

Installation/removal, first administrator setup, project folders, hub start/stop, network/TLS, transfers and template import, original-source review and picture-editing tools stay in desktop Admin; checklist/routine text authoring is also available in the browser. The existing desktop sidebar is preserved. No firewall, advertised address, port or protocol is changed.

HTTP does not encrypt passwords or management traffic. Use an approved trusted network and trusted HTTPS for confidential shared-network work. The host must remain running. This recovery line preserves browser administration from 1.28.1 and adds the documented 1.29 template/routine editor; it is not an identical original archive.
