Dispatch and receive with manifests

Manifest overview, packing groups and final placement

Read the current saved stage

Open Fleet & manifests in Admin, or Fleet in the main browser sidebar and then Manifests. The overview separates Drafts, Ready, In transit and Awaiting placement. Search reference, route or title; use Shipment view for the relevant state. Summary numbers count shipments, while table transit/placement numbers count item records.

Use the next-step explanation

Select a native manifest to see its route and suggested next step before opening it. Browser lists show the next step alongside the reference, and details repeat it. Draft means review packing; Ready means confirm physical departure; transit means record outstanding receipt/return; received holding means record final placement. These are explanations, not new permissions or automatic transitions.

Open a packing group only when needed

Saved manifest details begin with top-level shipment groups. Expand packing groups / Expand all contents reveals their saved contents; Collapse hides them again. Descendants are grouped beneath their shipment root, not reconstructed into a new packing hierarchy. Native hidden child selections are cleared. Receipt/return still accepts COMPLETE pending root groups, not arbitrary visible child rows.

Receiving and placement are separate

A saved physical receipt into holding leaves the SAME equipment records awaiting their final position. Use Receiving & placement to place those records in a location or box. Do not import or create them again. A local storage move is not a vessel/base transfer and does not replace a physical receipt. Use manifests for journeys between sites.

Retain the movement safeguards

The existing version checks, full-box scope, confirmation wording, partial receipts, returns and delivery exceptions remain authoritative. Missing/pending records stay in transit until an explicit receipt/return. Damaged receipts retain quarantine. Closing a manifest, moving a box or completing a Task never certifies equipment or releases quarantine. Read the item journey for recorded events, not an invented inferred journey.
