Choose dates and times

Calendar and clock controls without changing the time basis

Editable date fields provide a calendar control; time fields provide a time selector. You can still type values manually. In Windows Admin, choose Date…, Time… or Calendar / time…. Select a date, adjust hours/minutes/seconds and choose Use selection. Cancel leaves the original value unchanged.

In the browser, use the calendar or clock button beside the field. A full log event timestamp also offers Calendar & clock…: choose the date and time, then Use selection. The date and time are combined explicitly as UTC, not converted from the laptop or phone’s local timezone.

Date-only fields stay dates. Time-only measurements keep the time basis stated by their field or source; the picker does not confirm an unknown timezone. Blank optional fields stay blank unless you select or enter a value. Creation, saving and approval timestamps are automatic records, not editable picker fields.
