Uninstall Wavelink

Review exactly what leaves this PC

Open Uninstall Wavelink from the Start menu, or use the Windows app-uninstall entry for Wavelink. The same removal wizard opens. Use the Windows account that installed the app. For an earlier version, the separate removal-tool ZIP opens this wizard without updating the app.

Before confirming

  1. Synchronise or export work on every phone. Export any projects you need and keep the backup OUTSIDE the folders you intend to remove. Stop the hub and close Admin and Setup.
  2. Application-only removal is selected by default. Review each exact project path. To delete project data, choose Complete uninstall and deliberately tick the verified folders to remove. Newly discovered or added folders stay unticked.
  3. Confirm that you have preserved the work you need. Type REMOVE, select Uninstall and confirm the final warning. Removing a project is permanent; reinstalling the app does not recover it.
  4. Read the removal result. A locked, missing, linked or unverified location is reported rather than silently declared removed. Close programs using a locked folder and use Check again before retrying.

What stays outside this removal

The private application runtime and recognised setup logs are removed. Shared Python remains because other applications may use it; it is also needed by the removal wizard. The tool does not scan all drives or delete unrelated files, other Windows users’ installations, separate installations, exported copies or external backups. Shared/network projects must be handled by their owner. A local copy of an earlier project can be selected explicitly.

Browser and phone storage, saved passwords, pinned shortcuts and installed trust certificates are not removed by uninstalling the PC hub. After recovering all required local work, remove this app’s saved site data and home-screen shortcut on each relevant device through that browser’s controls. Do not clear other sites or another project’s workspace. Ask IT before removing a trusted certificate that may be shared.

Safer removal choices

Wavelink 1.23 starts with Remove the app only selected. Project-deletion boxes start empty. Switching to Complete uninstall does not select projects automatically. Tick each verified folder deliberately, or use Select all available only after reviewing the list.

Check again preserves your choices for folders that are still verified. New or newly added folders stay unticked; unavailable folders are deselected. Refreshing clears the typed REMOVE confirmation. Returning to application-only removal clears all project-deletion selections.

If Setup recovery is pending, uninstall stops before deleting files. Keep the recovery snapshot, close the hub and rerun Setup first. Recovery snapshots that could not be cleaned up may remain for support; unrelated files are not removed automatically.
