About these instructions

This reader standardises presentation, not the entire procedure library. The original instructions, version labels and warnings are retained. Some topics describe the local Windows hub or earlier interface labels. They must not be read as proof that all desktop setup, imports or recovery work is available in the hosted browser.

The full wording, hosted/local scope, native Help and PDF review remains on the development list. Use only company-approved operational procedures; viewing Help does not approve a checklist, release equipment or verify work.

UI13 review: this Home article has been checked against the browser Home, saved-work tools and existing attention scopes. Native Home and the master PDF remain separate; other topics may still contain older local-vessel instructions.

BROWSER WORKFLOW · WORKSPACE UI 42

Use Home

Find the full workspace, keep clear choices and start familiar forms without losing your working context

Start in the correct project and account

Choose Home in the main sidebar. The heading identifies the current project and signed-in person. The sidebar remains available for the other workspaces. Home is a starting view, not an alternative permission system or a completion screen. A vessel-only account keeps its separate Fleet entry and does not acquire project-wide Home summaries.

Home shows destinations and creation controls using the current account's available capabilities; the server rechecks authority when a workspace or form is opened. A visible shortcut does not grant access to an otherwise private record. Administrator visibility is not the same as being personally assigned to the work.

Find all your available workspaces

Home groups the available workspaces under Daily work, Equipment & logistics, Safety & quality, Documents and Administration. All groups start visible. Use the group buttons to focus on one area or All workspaces to restore them.

Each card explains its purpose and has an Open action for its existing workspace. Handovers, Tasks, Standalone checklists, Logs, Calendar, Inventory & boxes, Maintenance, Certificates, Fault Reports, Toolbox Talks, HSE/QSHE and Original files appear only with the existing view permission. Fleet, Manifests and Receiving shortcuts remain project-administrator destinations. Administration also requires a named administrator. No new access is granted by Home.

Original files opens the existing library without replacing Home. The Account and Documents sidebar entries remain. Upload and folder organisation still require the existing administrator authority. Opening any card does not move, verify, receive or create equipment, sign a document, or mark work complete.

Search by workspace or activity

Find a workspace or activity accepts names and familiar terms such as shift, verify stock, renewal or sign toolbox talk. The sidebar finder uses the same destination vocabulary. All words must occur in that destination's label, description or search terms; this is not an intelligent search of your saved records or private notes.

Search and group filters can be combined. The count shows matching available workspaces, not outstanding work. Clear removes the search, while Show all available workspaces resets both filters. Enter moves keyboard focus to the first Open action without opening or creating anything. Escape clears the query.

Filtering Home does not filter its Saved work overview. Filter choices survive a same-session Home redraw, but reset when you leave Home or change the authorised session. There is no persistent favourites list or universal most-recent-record history. Continue an existing record inside its normal workspace; do not create another record to resume it.

Open a workspace or start new work

Primary creation actions are paired with the relevant card instead of hidden in a separate Start section. A permitted viewer without creation authority sees a disabled action and an explanation. The service still checks current authority when the form is used.

  • New task retains the square General task / Verify inventory / Maintenance activity / Certificate check chooser. Choose the appropriate familiar form; selecting a card creates nothing.
  • Verify inventory on Inventory & boxes opens the real fixed-scope inventory verification task form. Choose the inventory, people and exact scope. Assigning it does not verify the stock.
  • New checklist / dive opens the existing standalone checklist form. When a new-checklist draft is retained, Continue new checklist resumes it. Standalone checklists remain separate from Task-owned checklists.
  • New work order reads the Maintenance directory and opens the existing single-page form with no routine preselected. Exact-asset linking remains available from Asset details.
  • Add certificate opens the existing single-page certificate form, with its dates, record state and save rules unchanged.
  • New toolbox talk retrieves the existing form list, asks you to choose the published form and opens the normal briefing form. Saving the briefing does not sign it or issue a QR.

Open Handovers keeps the visible Create handover button, My shift and People & shifts in their usual workspace. No creation types are removed. The existing forms own their explicit save, private/public status, draft, duplicate-request and confirmation rules. Home adds no routine reason field or extra wizard.

Finish or keep an operational form before navigating away. Home guards delayed lookups so they cannot replace a new editor or a changed account. A failed lookup leaves the same shortcut available for retry; it does not clear your saved work.

Protect saved local work

Manage unsaved work remains in the heading. When this main browser workspace contains supported stored drafts or queued checklist results, Home puts the Unsent work notice before the workspace cards. Conflicts remain distinct. Review unsent work opens the same manager without discarding anything.

The manager can select or discard all eligible local entries after one exact confirmation. It never deletes hub records, signatures, other-account work or protected uncertain saves. Local copies are proposals, not confirmed results. A private handover saved on the hub, text existing only in an open form, separate log-window stores and other devices are outside this bulk scope.

Review separate log windows retains the established log-window review for permitted accounts. Keep or close the current form before managing stored work. Preserve unsent work before reloading or updating. Never clear browser storage to refresh the interface. The recovery export can contain broader sensitive workspace data; it is not a complete project backup or an accepted automatic restore.

Read the overview by its actual scope

Saved work overview uses the existing permission-checked attention endpoint. Expand a category for its limited record preview and a link to the full workspace. Its counts use saved server data; local drafts are not added. The timestamp states when the response was checked, and dates are UTC. There is no combined total across different categories.

AreaCount and scope
Your follow-up · HandoversYour private server drafts plus published revisions awaiting your personal acknowledgement. This does not include every department's handover.
Your follow-up · Assigned log issuesOpen log issues assigned to you or your departments, with the existing unread-alert figure. This is not a combined count of Tasks, equipment faults and HSE reports.
Accessible project work · Open tasksAll open Tasks you are currently permitted to access, not only your personal assignments. Overdue, awaiting your review, unread and postponed indicators are stated separately. Postponed work is outside the open count.
Accessible project work · Maintenance due & follow-upProject-wide maintenance for accounts with Maintenance view: overdue and due-within-seven-days open orders plus blocked follow-ups. Open undated orders are stated separately and excluded from that count.
Accessible project work · Certificate datesSaved certificate records that are expired or within their own reminder window. Unknown expiry dates are shown separately, not treated as current or valid.
Accessible project work · Received groups to placeThe administrator's receiving queue. Each entry is a received shipment group still needing its final location, not a summed item quantity and not a shipment still in transit.

Only categories returned by the server are shown. The previews are limited, so a visible list length need not equal the full count. Unknown, unavailable or malformed information is shown as unavailable, never as a reassuring zero. Counts are not equipment readiness, certification, approval or authorisation to operate.

Refresh, connectivity and changed sessions

Refresh rechecks the overview. The existing thirty-second background check runs only while Home is active and no operational form or busy input needs protecting. Expanding a preview does not acknowledge its records. Following a record link uses that workspace's existing read/alert behaviour, but Home itself does not complete work.

A failed read clears the previous private summary and displays Overview unavailable with Retry overview. A missing individual category result uses a dash and its unavailable explanation. An unconfirmed connection has a separate notice; existing local drafts stay retained. After returning to Home or changing accounts, old delayed responses cannot replace the new view.

View choices are temporary for the authorised browser session. This update does not add another browser database, automatic submission queue, new notification service or universal offline capability.

Hosted and local operation

The browser Home layout is shared. The restricted hosted demo runs on its server and needs an internet connection; it does not require Windows Admin or a local laptop to remain open. A local-vessel installation still depends on its chosen local hub and network. Independent vessel and cloud projects do not synchronise automatically.

The existing gateway, named-account login, current domain and project storage are not changed by Home. Hosted company isolation, production security and overlay-compatible off-host recovery remain separate acceptance work. Native Home and the master PDF are unchanged by this browser increment.

Help and remaining work

Home help opens this article in a separate browser context without replacing your working tab. All existing module and form Help entries retain their separate-tab behaviour. Use Open to reach each workspace's complete capabilities; the cards do not replace those tools with a basic subset.

This is a browser Home and finder improvement, not a redesign or acceptance of every module, native window or master PDF. Existing permissions, saved-record rules and operational meanings remain unchanged.
