Set vessel log permissions
Link the whole book, then grant only the actions needed
Prepare and link the logbook
- As a project administrator, create or import the logbook in Logs → Logbook setup. Review the complete history and source references. For a new vessel, normally create a separate logbook.
- Open Fleet & manifests → Vessel logbooks & permissions. Select the book and choose Link / review vessel. Choose the site, read the entry/reference counts, enter a reason and confirm the content review.
- Choose Save vessel link. The scope covers the entire history and future entries, without editing them or granting access. Do not label mixed-vessel history as one vessel to expose it in the portal.
- In User vessel access, give an enabled non-administrator Vessel-only access and the relevant site role. In Log permissions, select their vessel row and enable the required actions.
Choose the log actions

| Read only | Read logbooks and entries, and view reference pages that have been released to the team. No export or changes. |
| Contributor | Read, add entries, correct their own entries and view released references. No correction of other people’s entries, voiding or report export. |
| Log coordinator | All seven log permissions, including correcting any entry, voiding and exporting reports. No project or logbook-structure administration. |
Adjust the tick boxes after choosing a preset. View is needed for actions; Correct any includes Correct own. A logistics Viewer can separately be a log Contributor. The two permission sets remain independent.
Save with a reason. The affected user must sign in again. Permissions apply to all enabled logbooks of the selected site, not to every vessel or separately to each logbook. Removing a site grant clears that site’s log permissions; adding the site later does not restore them without review.
Withdraw access without moving history
Use Withdraw vessel access to hide a linked book without deleting it. Link / review vessel can restore only the same site. Its vessel identity cannot change; create another book for another vessel. Project-wide access is unchanged.
Archived books remain available for authorised reading, not new entries or corrections. Archive or withdraw active books before deactivating their site. Earlier downloads cannot be recalled.
