Open the inventory, then one box

Choose Inventory and the inventory list. The default Folder view shows only top-level items and boxes. On desktop, select a row and choose Open box, or double-click its name. On a touch phone, tap the name. Opening a box shows its direct contents in the SAME inventory workspace, not an expanding tree or a new box window.

Know where you are

The current box name, location, custody and direct/nested record counts describe the current folder. Up opens its parent; All inventory opens the top level of this list. It does not select every record. Back restores the previous folder, filters and visible selection during this open view. These navigation choices are memory-only, not saved inventory edits.

Read the path without filling the screen

Native Admin shows All inventory and the last two ancestor buttons. Full path displays every saved ancestor name in a read-only window. Long names are shortened only in compact display labels; stored names and IDs are not changed. The browser shows the breadcrumb path above the box. Existing nesting restrictions remain unchanged.

Select is different from Open

Select a row to inspect or move it. Ctrl / Shift extends desktop selection; phones have explicit checkboxes. The selection summary counts the selected movement groups and all included records. Selecting a box and one of its children still counts that child once. Nothing is packed, moved, verified or received just by selecting or opening it.

See details without losing the list

Wide native windows and large browser layouts show a selection inspector with identity, position, custody and scope. The native inspector has scrollable read-only text and separate Asset details, Item journey and linked-manifest actions. Smaller windows hide this panel; use Open details or Item actions instead. Detailed editors, asset profiles and native manifests still use their established windows.
